CommAgility

Convex Capital originated, led, structured and completed the sale of CommAgility Limited, an award-winning, world-leading developer of embedded signal processing and RF modules, and LTE PHY/stack software, designed for 4G and 5G mobile network and related applications, to Wireless Telecom Group, inc., a US listed Company.

CommAgility was founded by Ed Young, Paul Moakes, Simon Pack and Martin Hollingshead in 2006 and is an award-winning, world-leading developer of embedded signal processing and radio modules for 4G and 5G mobile network and related applications.. Based at Loughborough University Science and Enterprise Park (LUSEP), CommAgility has a second office at the TecTrum Technologiezentrum für Duisburg in Germany, following its acquisition in 2015 of MIMOon, an LTE software developer. The company exports around the world, with customers in over 15 countries including the USA, China, South Korea, India, France and Israel.

The deal team was led by Chris Froggatt and supported by Tom Campbell, whilst the deal was originated in-house by James Edge.

“Convex were instrumental in helping us create the IM and financial models for the business, find potential buyers, negotiate and work through a complex due diligence and legal process to get to a great outcome with the right acquisition partner to support and grow CommAgility into the future. The fact that they only worked on the sell-side gave us confidence that we were all aligned to get the best outcome.”
