Ash Richardson

Associate Director

Introduction:

Ash grew up in Stockport and attended Poynton High School before embarking on an apprenticeship in Banking & Finance.

Starting out at BNY Mellon, he developed his core skills with UK Cash Management & Liquidity Services before moving across to RBS Global Banking & Markets (GBM).

At RBS, Ash worked on Interest Rate Derivative (IRD) and Credit Default Swap (CDS) transactions as part of the Non-Core Division wind down. This preceded a move to NatWest Commercial & Private Banking as a Senior Relationship Manager, supporting a broad range of businesses across Greater Manchester with their transactional banking and debt funding requirements.

Following several successful years with NatWest, Ash moved to Kingsway Finance before serving as Business Development Director at Lombard Asset Finance. Here he focussed on driving deal origination from North West clients in the Commercial and Corporate space.

Before joining Convex, Ash set up his own commercial enterprise, KeySME Business Finance, to support businesses with their capital expenditure and cashflow funding needs – An experience which gives him an empathetic insight into the founder mindset.

Ash’s role at Convex centres around deal origination where he works alongside entrepreneurs and owner managers to help them deliver on their exit strategies.

Outside of work, he remains a Stockport lad at heart and enjoys the football, motorsport and competing in endurance sports.

“I’ve been fortunate to work with an eclectic mix of entrepreneurs over the last decade, providing tailored support in a wide range of areas. At Convex, I’m able to build on this experience and develop further, supporting business owners as they transit through a crucial stage in their entrepreneurial journey. Working with Convex, clients will benefit from the expertise, tenacity and agility needed to ensure this journey is both seamless and rewarding.”
